Voces Youth Council
One of the main components of the Youth and Parent & Engagement Program is the Voces Youth Council. While the group is open to any young person in Battle Creek that adheres to the group’s shared expectations, the group primarily consists of Latino high school youth.
The purpose of this group is to expose Latino youth to educational and social opportunities that will build their leadership skills, enhance their awareness of issues affecting their community, and in turn encourage them to be engaged participants of their community.
The Youth Council has participated in various service learning projects, coordinated numerous educational workshops (i.e. resume workshops, scholarship workshops, self-defense workshops) and social events, and coordinated successful fundraisers which have yielded over $900!

The Youth Council meets every Wednesday from 6:00-8:00pm.
