Educational Programs

Voces Afterschool Club

Our afterschool program prioritizes literacy as a cornerstone of student growth. Each session begins with a short emotional check-in to promote self-awareness and emotional well-being. Students then receive homework help or engage in partner reading with a high school mentor, building literacy skills and meaningful connections. Community-building icebreakers follow, supporting social-emotional learning. The day concludes with hands-on STEM or arts and crafts activities that foster creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.

Youth Council

The Youth Council is a dynamic leadership group made up of Latino high school students in grades 9–12. We meet weekly to build leadership and soft skills, engage in meaningful discussions, and take action through volunteer work in our community.

Our mission is to empower youth to become confident leaders, active citizens, and positive role models. Through hands-on activities, guest speakers, and community projects, members grow personally and professionally—while making a real difference.

Y.C Enrollment

Our Youth Programs are bilingual (English and Spanish) which provide educational support while creating pride in culture and language. Our high-quality programs are supported by Kalamazoo Youth Development Network (KYD Net).
